Creating Standard started with a journey of self-discovery, rather we choose to or not we all experience it. I was set out to find a place in the world, a meaning, and while exploring the world I realized the importance of health and realized this was failed to be explained in school. Along the way, I realized that no matter where life takes you, the most important relationship you’ll ever have is with yourself… I started building standards for myself after understanding the importance of the things that we intake, what we put in our bodies, and how time really matters. I’ve curated routines based on science and the nutrients we have on this earth to build a life of longevity with strengthening mental, emotional, and physical health. Launched in 2022 by Sontia Kay, a passionate entrepreneur and NASM-certified personal trainer, envisioned the brand STANDARD, which is more than just a brand—it’s a movement rooted in self-reflection and holistic health. Growing up in a single-mother household, Sontia learned the value of hard work and mental resilience from an early age. Her journey began with making the gym her outlet and a passion for fitness that blossomed into a deep commitment to understanding how simple lifestyle changes can make a profound impact. While juggling a demanding job and pursuing a degree, Sontia discovered her love for fitness and decided to get certified in personal training. What started with a curiosity about how the human body works quickly turned into a transformative journey. Her initial health site, “DFYND,” revealed that wellness extends far beyond strength training, inspiring her to create a broader, more inclusive space where women can truly thrive.
